Expanding Universe

A separate fashion label emerging from the same world —
streetwear, ensembles, and objects for the body,
carrying the visual language of the practice into cloth.
Six major works. Each exhibited, each institutional, each irreducible to a series. This is the artist at his largest scale — and his most singular.
6These six works were not chosen. They announced themselves — each one occupying a room, a memory, a position that no other work could fill.
Selected Works gathers pieces that exist outside the collection system — not because they are smaller, but because they are larger. Each work is an event. Each sculpture, costume, or installation contains a complete world. They have been shown in institutions. They have stood in rooms that changed the people who entered them. They are presented here as a digital exhibition chamber: six works, six moments, one artist speaking at full volume.
The full room. Astronaut, planets, all figures in one cosmos.
Three ancestral heads. Closed eyes. Wax-print bodies. Deep time.
Leopard machine and leopard man. The city as sacred ground.
The work that follows exists in a different register — saturated, total, sovereign.
The body as total archive. Every surface a world.
The thinker under glass. All the world held.
Two figures. Two deaths. One reckoning with what remains.
These are the works that remain when everything that can be forgotten has been forgotten.— Massa Chula, Selected Works
