Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire — Contemporary Artist
Massa Chula weaves a dialogue between painful memories and African utopias. A sculptor and installation artist, he projects traditional masks as spiritual mediators into a unique Afrofuturist universe.
As the creator of "The New Era Folks" movement, he champions an Africa that is proud of its roots and the architect of its own future.
His donation to the State of Senegal, honoring the history of the slave trade and its abolition, earned him the sacred title of "Pilgrim of Gorée on a Mission as Guardian of Memory." His works are permanently displayed at the House of Slaves on Gorée Island and at the African Renaissance Monument in Dakar.
An official partner of Côte d’Ivoire Tourisme, he has exhibited at the Francophonie summit, the Dakar Biennale, MASA, and IFTM Top Resa.
